Xerox Debuts Impika eVolution Drop-on-Demand Piezoelectric Production Inkjet Device at GRAPH EXPO
NORWALK, CT—September 26, 2014—Making its North American debut at GRAPH EXPO 14, the Xerox Impika eVolution is known for its flexibility and scalability—critical must-haves in today’s demanding print environment. eVolution offers print service providers another way to capitalize and maximize inkjet’s business growth potential.
Flexible enough to handle both plain papers and high-quality, inkjet-treated stocks, the drop-on-demand piezoelectric production inkjet device runs at speeds up to 832-feet-per-minute/3,628 pages-per-minute. It offers roll-fed, continuous-feed capabilities with a 20ʺ web width.
Patented variable speed technology—made possible by a frame architecture suited for two to four print heads—maintains maximum image quality when increasing or decreasing rates. This scalability doubles the productivity on a single platform and delivers more usable, sellable prints day after day.
For added productivity and automation, FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection can be integrated into Impika devices and supports all major data streams including PDF, PS and IPDS in one platform. Print service providers can easily expand their application offerings in the transaction/trans-marketing and direct-mail markets.
Additional eVolution features include:
- Adjustable printing quality—evolves to meet the specific requirements of each application with three print resolutions: 600x360, 600x600 and 600x1,200 dpi. Exceptional print quality is achieved with variable drop size technology.
- Modular and scalable configuration—protects printers’ investments with the ability to upgrade technology, color (up to six) and drop volume (up to five) configurations on site.
- Media and ink flexibility—allows longer “open time” using next-generation, high-density pigment inks on low-cost, inkjet-treated matte or silk papers, minimizing waste clean and purge cycles.
- Three controller options—Impika iController supports IPDS workflows for high-speed, variable-data jobs that can be updated easily following configuration adjustments, while Impika iFlow, a PC-based RIP and spool solution, promotes PDF and PostScript workflows. Xerox FreeFlow Print Server is also now available for the Xerox Impika eVolution TED 24 configuration.
