Xerox Launches Nuvera Production Systems at GRAPH EXPO
ROCHESTER, NY—OCTOBER 1, 2012—In a world full of color, black-and-white still brings in the green. Documents such as books, invoices, technical support manuals and a variety of booklets remain critical components of businesses today. In fact, production digital black-and-white cut-sheet volumes for short-run and on-demand books will grow at a nearly 10 percent rate through 2016 according to InfoTrends.(1)
For print providers, this means producing documents quickly, with sharp image quality and on a variety of paper sizes and types—and the new Xerox (NYSE: XRX) Nuvera 157EA production system and Nuvera 314EA perfecting production system deliver.
Fast, flexible black-and-white production
The Nuvera systems are the most productive cut-sheet production black-and-white devices on the market, with speeds of 157 images per minute and 314 images per minute respectively. Users can opt for the single-engine system or the dual-engine system to run duplexed pages twice as fast.
A new production stacker unloads finished applications while the system is still operating. Waist height and ergonomically friendly, the stacker permits larger capacity jobs to be printed without the need for manual intervention. An optional stack cart makes moving volumes of paper around the print shop easier.
The systems can also accommodate a range of paper weights without reducing print speed—a productivity gain for users. Sheet sizes up to 12.6x19.3″ allow more images to be printed per page—a cost saving for users.
High marks for Xerox Nuvera 314EA perfecting production system
After agreeing to test the Nuvera 314EA and giving it high marks, Matrix Imaging Solutions decided to install the system.
“I’ve watched this platform grow up. With each improvement made—from feeders to dual-print engines to the next generation of stackers—the speed and quality just keeps getting better,” said Kenneth Liszewski, production manager, Matrix Imaging Solutions. “The Nuvera 314 is not only dependable, it delivers what it promises.”
Expanded features to entire Nuvera line
In addition to the production stacker and the larger sheet size capability, new features to the entire Nuvera portfolio include:
- Updates to Xerox FreeFlow Print Server: new security standards, user interface enhancements and improvements to processing TIFF images on selected mainframe data streams.
- IntegratedPLUS Finishing Solution for Booklets PDF file: eliminates bottlenecks often associated with inline and offline booklet production—allowing more jobs to be completed faster. Available on all Nuvera systems installed after Oct. 2009.
- Production Information Management System: tracks performance information, such as machine status and productivity metrics, allowing operators to manage productivity on multiple Xerox presses, in real time, regardless of location (optional feature).
The Nuvera 314EA perfecting production system will be on display in Xerox’s booth No.1200 at GRAPH EXPO, Oct. 7-10 in Chicago.
