Xerox to Show Latest Enhancements to its FreeFlow Workflow Solution
ROCHESTER, NY—September 26, 2012—Xerox is unveiling new enhancements to its FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection at GRAPH EXPO so printers can stay competitive in an increasingly demanding industry.
A number of upgrades to several popular FreeFlow solutions give printers innovative ways to maximize time, productivity and resources.
Xerox FreeFlow Web Services 9.0
As Web-to-print orders continue to increase, upgrades to Xerox FreeFlow Web Services 9.0 makes it easier to interact with international companies with tools to handle multiple languages and currencies.
To address the spike in mobile device use, both printers and their customers can access FreeFlow Web Services via their smartphones and tablets, removing any barriers to placing or receiving an order. Also, with the Web Services’ open system, printers can tailor and integrate their site with third party or organic software.
FreeFlow Variable Information Suite
New to the FreeFlow Variable Information (VI) Suite is an expanded feature set to support a PDF workflow. Both VI Design Express and VI Design Pro can now create PDF files right at a workstation. Users can select the best output option for their needs based on speed, flexibility and cost.
This update supports PDF objects as variable resources and is compliant with industry standards.
Debuting for the first time in North America are two workflow solutions that address common production frustrations:
- IntegratedPLUS Finishing Solution for Booklets—eliminates bottlenecks often associated with inline and offline booklet production, allowing more jobs to be completed faster.
A touchless workflow in prepress operations increases uptime by removing the need for manual prepress and finisher setup—booklet jobs are preflighted and imposed according to the requirements of each unique job. Also, inline finishing devices can be shared with multiple printers in a shop, maximizing productivity and flexibility.
- FreeFlow Fleet Navigator—establishes a common workflow to send jobs to various multi-vendor devices within a print shop. By doing so, costs can be reduced by selecting the right press based on the economics of the job.
The automation feature ensures that the job is ticketed only once and that programming is maintained throughout the production cycle, regardless of the devices being used. This eliminates the need for additional operators or training, saving time and money.
