DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY—May 29, 2008—XMPie®, Inc., the leading provider of software for dynamic publishing, adds cross-media capabilities to the Web-to-print features of its uStore® marketing portal solution. Also, an individualized multilingual shopping experience for store visitors is now supported with an unlimited number of languages.
uStore software allows print providers, creative agencies and corporate marketing departments to easily offer customized and personalized printed documents through e-commerce-enabled online stores. Now, with uStore 3.0 customizable e-mail campaigns are available for store visitors to choose, customize and blast. Regular SMTP e-mail is supported as well as e-mails sent via ExactTarget, a leading provider of on-demand e-mail marketing software solutions. With ExactTarget, uStore ensures that senders are not labeled as spammers, so personalized e-mail messages reliably reach the intended recipient’s inbox, not a spam quarantine folder. Additionally, through ExactTarget, uStore customers can view bounce-back messages, so recipient lists can be easily updated and maintained.
“Plain Web-to-print document stores are no longer a differentiator for our customers,” said Jacob Aizikowitz, president, XMPie, Inc. “We see a major shift from pure Web-to-print to more elaborate Web portals for self-served multi-channel campaigns. With uStore 3.0 our customers can offer such multi-channel Web-enabled automation to their clients and quickly become high-value service providers rather than commodity print providers.”
In addition to the new e-mail and language customization capabilities, uStore 3.0 also features:
Personalized Customization
With uStore 3.0 it is now possible to create customized workflows based on data derived from a uStore visitor. The visitor’s information can be used to link to a SQL database where values from one or more tables can populate the contents of customization controls within uStore. With this capability, the uStore administrator can pre-populate drop-down lists that are unique to the visitor, such as a state or country list depending on where the visitor lives. Further, a list of objects can also be pre-populated, such as photos, and a default field can be provided for common variable data, such as an e-mail address for a franchise owner who regularly communicates with his or her customers. The uStore administrator can connect the customization controls to the SQL data using wizards, meaning no programming skills are required. The ability to provide personally relevant choices to a uStore visitor greatly simplifies the user experience, eliminates input errors and personalizes the workflow.
New Rich Text Editor
uStore 3.0 also features several enhancements that improve editing processes for store operators and their customers. uStore’s Rich Text editor, based on unique server-side font technology, gives users the flexibility to customize text and styles in any type of Adobe® InDesign® document, even if the document design contains fonts that are not installed on a store visitor’s computer. Server-side font technology also provides store operators with substantial control over font usage, so users can only incorporate fonts specified for each document design.
uEdit™ Enhancement
The latest version of XMPie uEdit is also incorporated into uStore 3.0. It allows customers to edit documents created with XLIM™ technology — XMPie’s XML-based layout technology which allows for dramatically faster generation of variable data print stream files for graphically simple documents. uEdit allows users to edit both images and text frames within these documents and provides the option of scaling and rotating frames. It also gives operators complete control of what objects can be edited by users.
Expanded Shipping and Payment Options
Further, with the release of uStore 3.0, XMPie continues to leverage its plug-in architecture by expanding shipping provider and payment clearing house options for customers.
uStore 3.0 is an add-on solution to XMPie PersonalEffect™ for cross-media programs, campaign management and more. Additionally, documents created with uDirect™, XMPie’s desktop and print-only solution, can be uploaded for sale on a uStore site.
uStore 3.0 will be available in Q2 2008 and will be shown with XMPie’s entire portfolio of software solutions in Hall 8B, Stand A78X at drupa 2008, May 29 - June 11, Düsseldorf, Germany.
