Walsworth Publishing Obtains Ovid Bell Press

MARCELINE, MO—Walsworth Publishing has acquired The Ovid Bell Press in Fulton, MO. Both companies will continue to operate as they do currently. John Bell will remain as CEO of The Ovid Bell Press.

Founded in 1924, The Ovid Bell Press is a short-run publication printer serving publishers of magazines and journals. Its 85,000-square-foot facility is equipped with direct-to-plate technology, heatset web presses and a bindery that offers saddlestitching or perfect binding with ancillary services.

Started in 1937 by brothers Don, Ed and Bill, Walsworth Publishing is under the second and third generations: Don O. Walsworth and his son, Don Walsworth. The company, which began printing yearbooks in 1947, operates from administrative offices and printing and binding facilities in Marceline, MO; a prepress facility in Brookfield, MO; a sales and marketing office in Kansas City, MO; and a printing facility in Saint Joseph, MI.
