I always find it fascinating to see which tips and blogs attract the most eyeballs. Sometimes I will write something I think is incredibly interesting and relevant and expect it to be widely viewed and shared, but I am almost always wrong. More likely, something I wrote as a throwaway piece surprises me with its high numbers.
The same is true for my LinkedIn postings. While 3,000 people viewed a video I posted about my 60th birthday in October, 30,000 looked at a piece regarding a restaurant down on Cape Cod and a story about how my dad used to save his coins throughout the year so that we could have lobster just once while on vacation.
It’s just funny to me what gets the most attention.
Over the course of a year, I will write and record 52 Short Attention Span Sales Tips, 52 Blogs, and 12 Printing Impressions columns. As we approach the end of 2020, I took a quick look back at the sales tips to see which subjects were of highest interest to you. They are listed in reverse chronological order, with the most recent first. I’ve also included links to the original YouTube video.
I want to call your attention to the bottom-most bullet point. The date it originally aired was March 16. Think about that. This was a time when we all experienced radical change and the rules changed every 24 hours. I think that one is the video most worth re-watching as it gives one particular piece of advice very few people I know of have heeded: Rethink everything. I took some heat when I first posted that tip, but I stand by the message. In fact, I think I’ll be writing my December PI column on the subject, now that I have the benefit of hindsight.
Anyway, I post this list for your dancing and dining pleasure.
