CHICAGO—An employee at a Cenveo envelope plant here was found dead Tuesday, apparently crushed in a machine accident, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

CHICAGO—Roughly 200 RR Donnelley employees from the former Von Hoffmann plant in Jefferson City, MO, have been laid off either for a few weeks or permanently, according to several media reports. Doug Fitzgerald, executive vice president of communications at RR Donnelley, declined to comment.
GLENS FALLS, NY—Finch Paper has appointed former SCA Tissue-North America executive Joseph Raccuia as president and CEO of the uncoated printing paper manufacturer. The 50-year-old Raccuia succeeds Richard Carota, 71, who retired as president and CEO after 53 years with Finch. Carota will continue in his role as chairman of the company's board of directors and chairman of the board's executive committee.

ST. PAUL, MN—Checks Unlimited, a Deluxe Corp. brand, is moving some operations from Colorado Springs, CO, to operations in Kansas City and Salt Lake City, according to KOAA-TV in Colorado Springs. The move will result in the loss of 100 printing jobs. Employees can apply for organization jobs in other cities. The 700-member call center will remain open there.
SUSSEX, WI—Citing softness in the economy and a desire to have production capacity in line with print demand, Quad/Graphics announced it was shutting down the equivalent of one plant’s worth of capacity immediately. As a result, 550 positions—roughly 5.6 percent of Quad’s domestic workforce—were eliminated in five states.
UTICA, NY—About 45 employees were laid off by Dodge Printing on Thursday which, combined with the 13 people that were let go last week, left the company with literally a handful of workers, the Utica Observer-Dispatch reported. John Wissing, chief operating officer, told the paper the layoffs were a result of losing a major account and seeing its credit facility tighten.
