Digital Printing-Production Inkjet - Continuous Feed (Color)
I had the pleasure to be a speaker at this year’s 2014 Inkjet Summit. It was jammed packed with amazing content from new and existing inkjet adopters, as well as integrators, consumables suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This conference is unlike any other, as it is all about “the learning experience” and “sharing vital content.”
Memjet has released Aspen, a page-wide color inkjet print engine that is optimized for on-demand, high-quality color printing label and commercial presses. Aspen enables print shops to ensure the accuracy of the data pipeline, in which information is transferred to the actual printer, with full dot control.
Since installing a Screen Truepress Jet2500UV board and roll inkjet printing system, Fresh Color Press in Eden Prairie, MN, is now able to take on more wide-format projects. The combination of the roll transport unit and automatic printhead cleaning function also enables continuous automated printing for long periods of time.
For a successful paper relationship, the supplier should understand your inkjet process and the ink-to-paper compatibility, as well as how you use the paper. The amount of ink applied, paper thickness, surface type and post-processing needed creates a successful print run. Understanding your partner is the biggest part of any relationship.
Since installing a Screen Truepress Jet520 inkjet web press in 2012, L & D Mail Masters of New Albany, IN, has experienced a major uptick in demand for full-color variable printing, and has been able to deliver high-volume projects in less time. “As a result of adopting the Truepress Jet520, we are witnessing many opportunities for new job growth and for transferring existing color and black-and-white print products from toner-based devices onto the high-speed inkjet platform,” said Diane Fischer, president.
The other day, someone asked me “if I could simplify high-speed, wide-format, aqueous inkjet in one simple explanation what would it be?” So, like many times before, I referred back to a trusty childhood toy: “Mr. Potato Head.”
As I have mentioned many times before in my blogs, it is the market’s responsibility to teach new and existing users the differences and the impact inkjet will have now and in the future. And to make them feel comfortable with changes that will occur to their processes and markets.
Total Printing Systems of Newton, IL, is adding a Screen Truepress Jet520EX-Monochrome inkjet web press to increase printing efficiency and bring higher tone reproducibility to monochrome book projects.
Middleton Printing of Grand Rapids, MI, installed an Epson SurePress L-4033AW label press to provide its manufacturing, publishing, retail, political, and food industry customers with high-quality labels.
