Digital Printing-Toner - Continuous Feed (Color)
Canon launched several color and monochrome printers this week in conjunction with its Canon for Business 2014 event, which took place at the Canon Customer Experience Center in Poing, Germany. Hundreds of customers, analysts and journalists attended the event, about a half hour from Munich.
TagG Informatique, a Xeikon customer for about 15 years, will be the first printer worldwide to install Xeikon's new digital printing press using its high-quality Trillium liquid toner printing technology. The company has a diverse production platform with specialized equipment dedicated to producing various applications, making it the ideal field test site for Xeikon's Trillium-based press.
Bridgeport National Bindery of Agawam, MA, was able to expand into the print-on-demand business and growing geographical market area, by implementing technology from Xeikon. Print-on-demand customers rely on the company primarily to print book covers, as well as other larger-format items like inserts for books, calendars, maps and posters.
As a member of the HP Indigo Preferred Media Partner Program, Neenah Paper will support the needs of the HP Indigo printer community for premium substrates, with specific emphasis on premium uncoated papers.

The Gimv-XL fund invested alongside Bencis as minority shareholder. Bencis' and Gimv-XL's strategy to invest in growth will enable Xeikon to enforce its mission of developing and distributing innovative digital printing technology that supports the needs of its customers.

A young designer I spoke to the other day was very frank about the fact that she did not like digital printing because you could only print on white paper. Granted there are some print providers that prefer to print on white coated stock all day long (digital or offset, it does not matter to them). And these few give our whole industry a bad reputation.
It was around Valentine’s Day when a red-striped promotional piece captured my paper lover’s attention within a millisecond. GLS, a single-source marketing services provider based in Minnesota, used CMYK and a triple hit of white to produce a beautiful striped pattern and ribbon effect. But it was the striking look and velvety feel of some of the hearts and stripes in the design that left me weak in the knees.
One of the key drivers for the printing industry is going to be digital technology. Digital printing offers personalization, cost savings, improved output options and the ability to migrate traditional offset volume to a value added digital services business model.
