MGI Digital Graphic Technology will launch and preview five new digital solutions during GRAPH EXPO 14 in Chicago. The lineup featured includes the Meteor DP8700 XL+, the DF Pro, the JETvarnish 3D Evolution T Option, the DP1000 XL and the JETvarnish 3DS.
Presentation Folder (PFI) of Orange, CA, has purchased a Scodix Ultra press at GRAPH EXPO 14 in Chicago. The new press positions PFI to be on the forefront of new technology and emerging markets, said PFI President Joel Tardie.
As the first collaborative achievement between MGI and Konica Minolta, the JETvarnish 3DS will be revealed to the United States at GRAPH EXPO 14. It is the newest addition to the JETvarnish Digital Spot UV Coating line and has all the tactile effects and advantages of the original JETvarnish 3D at only half the size.
Taylor Graphics, a California based printing company, has dedicated 100 percent of its efforts on trade printing. Recently, it invested in a JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV coater. “We were excited about the opportunity to offer our customers digital spot UV coating with the ability to do both flat and raised UV,” said Dean Taylor, owner of Taylor Graphics.
American Greetings will be installing its first Scodix S75 digital enhancement press at its Osceola, AR, production facility this summer. The new unit will enable the company to specify professional short-run enhancements, while maintaining a digital production workflow. American Greetings also be able to digitally enhance greeting cards with raised imagery, foil and metallic special effects, and glittering.
Since adding a new MGI Meteor DP8700XL digital press and JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV coater, Prestone Printing in Long Island City, NY, is now able to win new projects and offer a faster turnaround for its clients. "Our clients are now able to produce more innovative marketing collateral with an appealing schedule and price, due to the cost savings of using a digital press over an offset," said Ira Wechsler, Prestone Printing’s partner and vice president of operations.
At Ipex in London’s ExCel from March 24-29, Konica Minolta is showing how it is exploiting digital short-run packaging markets with demonstrations of its KM-1 B2+ UV inkjet color press for digital short-run production.
As a part of its UV in 3D Campaign at Graphics of America being held this week in Miami, The Printer’s Edge of Orlando, FL, has invested in a JETvarnish 3D digital spot UV coater.
MGI Digital Graphic Technology has been selected to receive the “Game Changer” award for its JETvarnish 3D inkjet spot UV coater with the iFOIL module at the 2014 Graphics of the Americas Expo and Conference, taking place February 27-March 1, 2014 at the Miami Beach. MGI will be showcasing this device, as well as the Meteor DP8700XL digital press, in full production demonstrations.
