Graphco held an Open House for its new WD Manley Technology Center in Cleveland, from Aug. 30-31. The Open House featured a variety of technology, including the new eight-up RMGT Series 9 sheetfed offset printing press. Throughout the day, live demonstrations were run on the various technology stationed in the technology center and presentations from industry experts were given, exploring the future of the new print industry, sustainability of print, and color management.

A fire in a Moscow printing plant killed 17 migrant workers from Kyrgyzstan Saturday, Russian authorities said.

Hammer Packaging of West Henrietta, N.Y., has added a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106-8+L to increase capacity and improve productivity. The new peak performance press replaced an older competitive press, and will run alongside two existing Speedmaster CD 102 presses and a CX 102. In just over three months of production, the press counter is already showing 19 million impressions, and the company intends to further increase throughput by running shifts 24/7.
