To keep up with its dramatic sales growth, increase in capacity, and have the latest in offset printing technology, K-1 Packaging Group, a designer and manufacturer of high-end, graphic packaging materials for retail items located in City of Industry, CA, has purchased a new eight-color, 41" KBA Rapida 105 press with coater and UV capabilities.

Nearly 200 customers and prospects turned out for a series of demonstrations and discussions highlighting the XL 75 Anicolor digital offset press at Heidelberg's North American Print and Packaging Technology Center (Technology Center) in Kennesaw, GA.

Print service providers intent on modernizing their sheetfed offset equipment, and printers who want to learn more about the total financial return of new generation, high-technology offset presses vs. pay-per-click toner-based presses, are encouraged to attend RYOBI's MHI open house May 7-8, at the North American Demonstration Center in metro Atlanta.

New offerings in package printing, general commercial printing, specialty printing, security printing and LED-UV instant curing were demonstrated at the RYOBI MHI Graphic Technology headquarters manufacturing facility outside of Hiroshima, during an open house held last week. Representatives from the company’s U.S. and Canadian distribution group, Graphic Systems North America, attended the open house with customers. GSNA markets and sells to commercial, in-plant, specialty and package printers.

The new 29" Heidelberg XL 75 Anicolor digital offset press is now available in the North American market. The press is ideal for commercial, label, package printing and P-O-P applications. On Jan. 29, PrintMediaCentr hosted an hour-long #PrintChat about short-run offset and Heidelberg’s XL 75 Anicolor press.

The new Speedmaster CD 102 from Heidelberg, equipped with Preset Plus Delivery and a comprehensive package of automation components, can boost productivity by around 10 percent on the previous series. The press will be available in April.

MPress, one of the largest full-service commercial printers in New Orleans, has chosen a six-color, 29" Komori Lithrone SX29 (LSX629) press to accommodate its growing business with quicker turnaround times. The company has increased its productivity by more than 50 percent since installing the press.

Zenger Group has been an innovative force in the western New York’s printing industry for more than 30 years. At its new corporate headquarters and plant in Tonawanda, NY, the company has installed an eight-color Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 perfector with Axis Control.

The addition of a new five-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102 press with Inpress Control, aqueous coater and extended delivery at Ryan Printing in Blauvelt, NY, has transitioned the company from a one-shift operation to a full-size shop.

Heidelberg announces that series production of the Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor began in Wiesloch-Walldorf, Germany, at the start of this year. In Heidelberg USA's North American Print and Packaging Technology Center in Atlanta, the press is installed and ready for demonstrations upon request.
