With offset presses becoming scarce on the show floor and digital vendors pushing for higher volume and larger B2-format machines, digital presses are becoming the "big iron" components of the GRAPH EXPO show. Almost without exception, digital press vendors highlighted their workflow and digital front end (DFE) capabilities.
Lake Erie Graphics, a commercial printer based in Brook Park, OH, has purchased a full 48-head configuration of the Agfa :Jeti 3020 Titan UV inkjet printing system. “We chose the :Jeti 3020 Titan for its high-speed, high-quality, eight-color printing capability and low ink cost,” said Jim Dietz, Lake Erie president.
Agfa Graphics (booth #627) celebrates the 200th member of GreenWorks, the program that recognizes customers who demonstrate their commitment to the environment. The 200th GreenWorks member is Horseshoe Press, owned by Dickey Tam, a commercial printer in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
At GRAPH EXPO 2012, Agfa Graphics introduced the newest addition to its family of :Energy no-bake plates. The :Energy Xtra positive working, no-bake plate can produce up to 600,000 impressions without baking, and longer when baked. :Energy Xtra will be available for commercial sales in Q1 2013.
At the Agfa :Apogee Users Group meeting being held at GRAPH EXPO 2012 in Chicago, :Apogee users will have an opportunity to preview the new :Apogee 8, participate in a user roundtable discussion, and pose questions to workflow experts.
