DALLAS—To help solve customer challenges, FedEx Office is accelerating investment in its infrastructure by adding additional commercial production equipment. The company is deploying new grand-format inkjet printing devices to its centralized production centers across the country for producing rigid signs, banners, posters, point-of-purchase materials, oversized prints and more. Also, it is expanding its workforce by hiring more team members.
FedEx Office is deploying new Agfa Graphics’ Jeti 3020 grand-format inkjet printing devices and, effective March 1, it will serve as Boeing’s primary print provider, producing critical operations, sales and large/grand-format printed materials. The printers will be installed at its centralized production centers across the country.
The Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization (PRIMIR) recently announced the officers and members of its 2012 Executive Committee. Eric Frank, vice president of marketing, KBA North America, was elected as the organization's chairman. COSTA MESA, CA—Digital and sheetfed offset printer Primary Color has purchased a new Agfa/Thieme M-Press Tiger, a hybrid configuration that combines four-color digital inkjet printing with an in-line silkscreen unit. It is reportedly the only hybrid machine in North America with an optional in-line screen printing unit that can print primers, varnish, spot color or gold, silver and white inks, as well as thermal scratch-’n-sniff inks, with no loss in productivity.
