Agfa’s booth (#1227) will feature an inkjet experience that people don’t always get to see: a comprehensive showcase of real-world applications that creatively portray inkjet output in various environments—home decor, a fine art gallery, outdoors and a retail setting.
Agfa Graphics announced that the :Apogee Users Group meeting at GRAPH EXPO is rapidly filling up. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 12, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. in room S106b in the South Building, Level 1 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
During GRAPH EXPO, X-Rite/Pantone, booth 448, will be showcase their full range of standards-compliant color management solutions for profiling and calibrating scanners, monitors, printers and presses; press quality control tools for proofs, plates and prints; ink formulation tools; dedicated flexography and packaging solutions; and process control and color certification for the digital supply chain.

Prestone has purchased two HP 5500 large-format inkjet printers (indoor and outdoor), a Roland Solvent Jet printer (outdoor), an Agfa Anapurna M 2050 eight-color hybrid inkjet printer, a large-format laminator (hot and cold lamination) and a Kongsberg i-XL-24 ICut digital cutter.
RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ—Agfa Graphics will be implementing a silver surcharge on graphic film products effective May 9. Peter Wilkens, president of Agfa Graphics, notes that the price of silver continues to escalate, increasing nearly 60 percent year-to-date with no signs of stabilization. This follows an 80 percent increase in silver prices in 2010, he added.
“Year-to-date, silver prices have increased almost 60 percent with no signs of stabilization,” said Peter Wilkens, president of Agfa Graphics. In lieu of raising graphic film product prices, a surcharge will be implemented to compensate for these extraordinary market conditions.
Nutis Press has purchased the high-speed, UV flatbed inkjet press for installation in its newly renovated, G7-certified facility in Columbus, OH. “More and more, our customers are demanding shorter runs and sometimes with same-day turnaround,” said Tom Jasper, vice president of production at Nutis.
