Canon has just announced three new digital cameras under its Powershot product line. These are the Canon Powershot SX 150, Canon Powershot ELPH 510 HS and Canon Powershot ELPH 310 HS. According to Canon, all three digital shooters promise to capture beautiful still images and great high-definition video.
At the beginning of 2011, the in-plant at U.K.-based University of Essex, in Wivenhoe Park, rebranded itself as Print Essex. The 13-employee shop then strategically targeted a broader range of customers including those in the commercial market.
Looking to update the home printer? Canon has added a pair of new models to its lineup. The Pixma MG5320 is a wireless all-in-one (printer, scanner, copier) that sells for $150. It uses five individual ink tanks with Canon’s ChromaLife100 + ink. It’s capable of producing a 4 x 6-inch photo in 20 seconds and has a resolution 9600 x 2400 dpi.
Japan's major consumer electronics makers are expected to show April-June earnings collapsed due to the March earthquake, but focus is turning to whether they can meet their forecasts for a swift recovery, given a fragile global economy. Average estimates show Panasonic and Sharp are expected to slide into the red for the quarter, while Nintendo is forecast to report a slender operating profit of 10 billion yen ($127 million). Cisco Systems plans to cut 15 percent of its staff and sell a set-top box factory as part of a plan to cut annual expenses by $1 billion as the network equipment maker tries to revive its fortunes. The company said on Monday that it will cut 11,500 jobs, compared with the several thousand that analysts had predicted. The cuts come after Cisco's chief executive John Chambers said in April that the company had "lost its way". Cisco had 73,408 employees as of the end of the last quarter, a spokeswoman said.

Japan's Fujifilm aims to become the world's fourth largest camera maker by next March and the No. 3 manufacturer two years later, overtaking first rival Samsung and then Nikon, a senior company executive said. Until recently best known for inexpensive models, Fujifilm may also re-enter the more lucrative interchangeable lens camera market, Takeshi Higuchi, head of the company's camera division said in an interview with Reuters. In digital still cameras unit sales, Fujifilm says it is currently in fifth position behind Canon, Sony, Nikon and Samsung, but adds it is confident that its plan to boost sales 25 percent
