Chairman and CEO Bob Burton noted that Cenveo’s operations continue to perform "according to our expectations and that our business plan remains on track.” He added that the company's end markets, including custom labels, direct mail envelopes, specialty packaging and commercial printing, remain solid and its backlog in those markets remains strong as the third quarter draws to an end.

Cenveo has upgraded its short-run publishing and customized collateral capabilities by purchasing an HP Indigo W7200 digital press, which has been installed at its digital production facility in Hurlock, MD. “Our customers want to save money through just-in-time production and the marketing benefits of variable-data personalization, without sacrificing the level of printing they get with traditional offset,” said Cappy Childs, president, Digital, Logistics and Sales divisions, Cenveo.
STAMFORD, CT—Boosted by the February acquisition of MeadWestvaco Corp.’s Envelope Product Group (EPG) and growth from the company’s direct envelope group, which benefited from strong direct mail volumes, Cenveo Inc. saw net sales increase approximately 11.2 percent to $495.2 million for the quarter ending July 2, compared to $445.3 million for the three months ending July 3, 2010.

STAMFORD, CT—Commercial printer and envelope specialist Cenveo Inc. plans to shut down its Dallas plant envelope manufacturing plant on July 30, resulting in 71 layoffs, according to the Dallas Business Journal. The newspaper cited a Cenveo filing with the Texas Workforce Commission.
IndyCar announced a multi-year print services contract and sponsorship deal with Cenveo that leverages the latter’s complete platform—commercial and digital printing, envelopes, forms and labels, publisher services, e-commerce and distribution services. “We are excited to be working with Cenveo to help us get closer to our fan base and our partners,” said Greg Gruning, vice president of sales for IndyCar.
