According to figures compiled for the latest “Top 50 GPO Suppliers” reports, the total volumes of work procured by the Government Printing Office in first three quarters of 2012 were nearly identical to figures for the corresponding periods of 2011.

Consolidated Graphics’ revenue for the second quarter totaled $263.6 million—a $3.8-million, or 1.4-percent, decline compared to the prior year’s quarter. Its net income was $6.7 million vs. $7.5 million last year. “While we experienced increased demand from many of our clients, the decline in sales this quarter was primarily caused by lower demand from a handful of our large customers,” explained Joe R. Davis, chairman and CEO of Consolidated Graphics.

Consolidated Graphics’ revenue for the June quarter totaled $238.3 million, a $5.0 million or 2.1 percent decline compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Its adjusted operating income for the quarter was $2.8 million vs. $8.9 million for the prior-year quarter.
