Web-to-Print Portals Lead to Profits, Efficiencies

In the B2B space, where actions are much less dictated by emotions, purveyors of Web-to-print (W2P) ordering systems must contend with perception when it comes to ease of use, notes Jim Rosenthal, vice president for Paradigm Digital Color Graphics in Southampton, PA. Clients still want to be able to move orders off their desks within three to five clicks. By the same token, printers also want that level of simplicity, particularly when it comes to integration.

GAA Announces Neographics Power Of Print Winners

The Graphic Arts Association (GAA) is proud to announce the Neographics Power of Print and Best of Category winners for 2009.  More than 300 representatives of the printing industry were in attendance on May 7, 2009 at the Union League in Philadelphia as the awards were presented. Fifty-five of the nearly 400 entries were chosen as Best of Category.

The first press is a six-color Rapida 105 sheetfed press; the second is a 10-color, five-over-five Rapida 105 long perfector with a roll-to-sheet feeder. Agfa Talks Tech With Printers NORTH BERGEN, NJ—Agfa recently held a one-day "Technology Showcase" for area printers, featuring its chemistry-free CTP solutions and Sublima XM screening. Deborah Hutcheson, Agfa's senior marketing manager, Digital Solutions, gave attendees an overview in a formal presentation and then two of the company's customers shared their first-hand experiences. John Santangelo, executive vice president of H&S Graphics in Lodi, NJ, conducted demonstrations of Azura aluminum plates being imaged by an Acento thermal platesetter for chemistry-free CTP production.
