Thirty three graphic arts companies were selected as recipients of 2011 Best Workplace in the Americas Awards by a committee of distinguished human resources experts from within the industry. A total of 14 companies received the coveted Best of the Best designation, while 19 earned Best Workplace honors.

At $5.748 million, NPC Inc. of Claysburg, PA, won the most GPO work in the third quarter of 2011. The total value of the print volume awarded was $78 million, compared to $82 million for the third quarter of 2010.
It would seem that if GPO is serious about channeling more federal printing to the private sector, its strategic plan would place more emphasis on redirecting the $800 million being done by agencies to independent printers.
Of the more than 1,371 print suppliers that obtained GPO jobs during the second quarter, RR Donnelly won the most work—$17,959,441. Rounding out the top five were NPC Inc. ($4,924,688), Gateway Press ($4,446,410), Monarch Litho ($3,114,990) and SourceLink ($2,488,361).

For the second consecutive year, NPC (News Printing Co.) of Claysburg, PA, heads the list. More than 1,700 print suppliers obtained GPO work during FY2010. The value of all GPO work awarded to them during this period was $358 million compared to $425 million awarded in FY2009.
