Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, CEO and president of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, reported that the show is sold out.
Epson has been chosen as the official printer and paper partner of the 2012 Nature’s Best Photography Windland Smith Rice International Awards Exhibition, which will be displayed at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. from March 30, 2012 through Jan. 6, 2013.

The official drupa 2012 International Media Conference, conducted by the show’s organizers, has been taking place this week in Düsseldorf, Germany. It gives participating exhibitors the opportunity to share their plans for the upcoming international printing expo. Among the companies to making presentations during the first two days were Heidelberg, Ricoh, Kolbus, Epson, Canon, Fujifilm, Pitney Bowes and Domino Printing Sciences.
Epson has announced its “Engineered for Print” strategy and its significant new lineup of digital products and technologies for production and industrial print applications. During drupa 2012, the company will be showcasing its next-generation SurePress “X” label press.
Epson, Canon, Fujifilm, Pitney Bowes and Domino Printing Sciences were among the drupa 2012 exhibitors to preview their plans for the international printing trade show during day two of the official drupa 2012 International Media Conference.
Incorporating Epson’s latest technological breakthroughs, the SureColor S30670 is the first solvent-based printer to use the Epson MicroPiezo TFP print head, bringing a new level of quality, performance and value to the signage, vehicle graphics and fine art markets.
INTERQUEST announced a successful sixth annual Digital Printing in Government and Higher Education Forum. The event took place in Washington, DC on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel and drew nearly 100 attendees. Speakers from government and higher education shared innovative applications, opportunities and challenges in their work environments.
Wide- and grand-format printers really stood out around the show floor, with the size of some devices giving them the impression of being the new “heavy iron” in the industry. Even the new crop of inkjet presses for high-volume page production was overshadowed a bit by their wider brethren, as fewer vendors elected to bring machines to Chicago.
Agfa Graphics announced that it will showcase the widest product portfolio at the company’s booth (#1227) at GRAPH EXPO 2011. Several wide-format inkjet systems will be running live at the show, including the new :Anapurna M1600, a 63˝ wide UV-curable, four-color printer that features white ink and Agfa’s flexible G2 inks.
