CHAMBERSBURG, PA—There are always one or two surprises to be found in the quarterly report of top U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) contractors by volume. Many times a printer will appear seemingly out of nowhere or make a major jump up the listing. It’s certainly common for rankings to shift from one quarter to another. In terms of the 50 names on the report, however, there is generally a fair amount of quarter to quarter consistency. That was not the case between the third and fourth quarters of the 2013 federal fiscal year.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA—Even in light of volatile marketplaces, private-sector companies that serve the printing needs of numerous federal government agencies and departments [procured through the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO)] continue to enjoy a positive revenue stream, according to figures compiled for the latest “Top 50 GPO Suppliers” reports.

According to figures compiled for the latest “Top 50 GPO Suppliers” reports, the total volumes of work procured by the Government Printing Office in first three quarters of 2012 were nearly identical to figures for the corresponding periods of 2011.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA—U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) work to private sector printers increased modestly from the fourth quarter of 2011 through the first quarter of 2012, and industry officials express some hope that this begins to reverse a trend of declining work from the GPO.

The volume of GPO work contracted to the private sector in January through March of this year totaled $61 million, compared to $59 million for the fourth quarter of 2011. NPC Inc. topped the list with $5.357 million awarded to the firm.

The volume of GPO work contracted to the private sector totaled $59 million for the fourth quarter, compared to $78 million for the third quarter of 2011 and $66 million for fourth quarter of 2010. NPC Inc. won the most GPO work.

Federal Fiscal Year 2011 covered October 2010 to September 2011.

For the third consecutive year, NPC Inc. of Claysburg, PA, heads the list of “GPO Top 50 Print Suppliers.” It was awarded $24.7 million of the $331 million in GPO printing work done in fiscal year 2011.
