The Minnesota printer placed an order at Graph Expo here for an end-to-end digital printing solution, including print heads, presses and consumables, all manufactured by Kodak. Japs-Olson also signed on for a new eight-unit Goss Sunday 2000 web press.
Goss International
Jobs, lower utility costs, and cleaner energy could be in the wind…Goss International, which operates manufacturing facilities in Dover and Durham (NH), created a buzz earlier this year when it announced it was getting into the turbine business. The company agreed to a contract with Massachusetts-based Aeronautica to produce electromechanical nacelle components for midscale turbines in North America.
"We see it as a growth opportunity," said Goss spokesman Greg Norris.
Nacelles are about the size of a school bus and create electricity when blades on a wind turbine spin. Goss is expected to begin production later this year.

HANOVER, NH—Dartmouth Printing, a web printer specializing in journal, magazine and catalog production, will install a new nine-unit Goss Sunday 2000 web press in early 2011. Dartmouth is a member of The Sheridan Group, based in Hunt Valley, MD.
Those lithographic printers walking the show floor earlier this month at Graph Expo in search of a bevy of heavy-iron, offset presses were sorely disappointed. With press manufacturers Heidelberg USA, Komori America and Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses opting to pass on this year's show, the South Hall at McCormick Place lacked the all-encompassing lineup of traditional press vendors that visitors in years past have come to expect.
The four-unit, 32-page press will be capable of producing saddle stitched and perfect bound products up to 9” wide, a first for single-circumference web presses. Brown will equip the press with closed-loop color, as well as automated register and ribbon controls that increase efficiency while maintaining the high level of quality Brown’s customers have come to expect.
Printers and publishers who bring a purchase order for parts to the Goss booth (#1237) at the show will be able to have their order entered on the spot. They will receive the discount on parts orders of any value up to $50,000 for commercial and newspaper presses, as well as finishing systems.
