Goss International shipped the world’s first 96-page web offset press to Mazzucchelli in Seriate, Italy, in January. The Sunday 5000 system utilizes gapless blanket technology, which eliminates the vibrations associated with blanket gaps and allows high speeds and excellent print quality to be maintained with the wider cylinder configuration.

Goss International Will Reduce Staff Level in United States

Goss International today initiated a plan to reduce its work force in the United States. Between 200 and 250 employees based at facilities in Illinois, New Hampshire and Texas will be impacted. “This is an essential step to bring manufacturing and support resources in the United States in line with market demands and to sustain our position as an innovative industry leader,” explains Goss International CEO Jochen Meissner. “We regret the impact this will have on our employees and are committed to carrying out the plan in the most equitable manner possible.”

Goss Introduces Three-around Option for Newspaper Printing

Goss International has introduced a solution that overcomes barriers deterring many newspapers from converting to a more attractive and cost-effective compact format. The new Goss Triliner technology converts two-pages-around newspaper presses to print three pages around, allowing publishers to save paper and increase productivity and color capacity while still maintaining broadsheet sectioning and the ability to accommodate standard-size advertising inserts.
