GPA has announced five new appointments. Tom Brooker has taken on the exclusive responsibility of CEO; Bob Niesen has been promoted to president; David Maucieri has been promoted to senior vice president of sales; Mary Ann Geers has been promoted to area vice president for the Central region; and Gilbert M. Chavez has been promoted to vice president of operations.
GPA reports that it had a successful PRINT 13 in Chicago last week. GPA said record-setting booth traffic from new contacts, current customers, and graphic designers, among others from the industry interested in GPA offerings made PRINT 13 the most successful of the PRINT and GRAPH EXPO shows so far.
GPA Specialty Substrate Solutions will show its Ultra Digital Heat Transfer Paper in action and receive a free t-shirt. The company will also unveil its new Digital Product Catalog, which features a wide selection of substrates that offer cross-platform compatibility for performance in a variety of digital production environments.
The Printerverse will offer a mixture of events focused on the latest industry trends featuring panel discussions, interactive sharing sessions, awards presentations and networking events. It's designed to create an “Out of this World” show floor experience for show-goers and will also serve as a social media hub on the PRINT 13 and CPP EXPO show floor.
GPA Specialty Substrate Solutions created an interactive promotion, using a postcard to advertise an arboretum exhibit that was printed on pressure-sensitive tag stock. The butterfly shape within the imagery was then kiss-cut to allow the target recipients to peel the sticker off and use it as a decoration—turning what would have been an ordinary postcard into something fun and interactive.
GPA is now accepting entries for its 2013 Print and Design Contest until October 1, 2013. For a printed piece to be eligible, it must be from an actual job or promotion that was printed by a GPA customer on a qualified GPA substrate within the past year.
