Printing Impressions and RIT Printing’s Hall of Fame honors Niels Winther, chairman and managing partner of Think Patented.
At GRAPH EXPO 15 in Chicago, Heidelberg’s Promatrix 106 CS diecutter will make its official U.S. debut.
Based in Fort Worth, Texas, 4 Color Press (4CP) has been an early adopter of Heidelberg’s Anicolor technology. Most recently, the company added its second Anicolor machine, a Speedmaster XL 75 -5+L. 4CP is on track to triple its business in the next two years. According to 4CP’s owners Andrew and Lisa Fuld, the company had outgrown the Speedmaster SM 52 Anicolor it acquired in 2007, logging more than 103 million impressions on the machine in seven years.
A five-color Speedmaster CD 102 with coater and extended delivery has been installed at Keno Graphic Services in Shelton, Connecticut.
After completing a 12-month Performance Plus program through Heidelberg, Think Patented was able to increase its average performance by 20 percent and reduce makeready waste by 50 percent. The program saved the business more than 620 production hours, resulting in a total savings of $237,720. "It was crucial to identify training gaps, [and to] resolve applications and process issues. We have better printers and quality processes as a result," said Niels Winther, chairman and managing partner. "We are happy with the outcome of our [Performance Plus] efforts."
