The speaker lineup for the 65th Annual Technical Conference of the Technical Assn. of the Graphic Arts has grown more impressive with the addition of keynote sessions by Martin Schmitt-Lewen, head of technologies for future business, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen; and Gilad Tzori, vice president of product strategy, Landa Digital Printing.
Answering customer demand for shorter runs, Houston-based Simon Printing has taken the path toward greater efficiency and higher profits by choosing to install a four-color Speedmaster SM52 Anicolor press. “We’re not into ultra-short runs, and we didn’t need the variable-data capability of a digital color press,” said Brad Simon, owner.
Last month, Printing Impressions and its sister publications, Package Printing and In-plant Graphics, were invited to visit Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG's headquarters to talk with executives and tour the company's massive sheetfed press manufacturing facility in nearby Wiesloch-Walldorf.
