The international networking meeting “Women in Print” will take place on May 6 at the Heidelberg “Sternberg Lounge” in the direct vicinity of Hall 1. The event will offer female executives managers from the print media industry a common platform to share ideas and exchange experiences.

To meet the growing demand for a UV solution suitable for simple, four-color applications, Heidelberg is introducing DryStar LE UV, an entry-level, low-energy UV solution for commercial, light packaging, or specialty printers. The new solution will be officially introduced in May at drupa 2012, and is already in use at Heidelberg’s North American Print and Packaging Technology Center (NAPPTC) in Kennesaw, GA.

Last week, Heidelberg USA hosted the 2012 LPIA Technical Institute at its North American Print and Packaging Technology Center in Kennesaw, GA. Among the highlights of the day was a chance to see Heidelberg’s latest addition to its Tech Center pressroom: a six-color Speedmaster XL 105 with dual coating unit for aqueous and UV and full interdeck UV drying.

To help boost its capacity and services, FCL Graphics has invested in a high-speed Heidelberg stitching line with six model TAS signature feeders with the Optigraf signature recognition system. Shanghai Tobacco Package Printing Co. recently signed a contract with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG in China for the purchase of the longest offset press in the Chinese market—a Speedmaster 10-color press with perfecting device, two coating units and two drying units.

At the official drupa 2012 International Media Conference held at the Messe Düsseldorf Congress Centre in Düsseldorf, Germany, more than 100 media delegates eagerly awaited to hear about the latest product launches planned for drupa that were going to be revealed during the three-day briefing.
