The Chairman of the Management Board of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Bernhard Schreier, is the new drupa 2012 president and chairman of the Exhibitors’ Advisory Board. He assumes this role from Martin Weickenmeier, managing director sales, marketing and service of Körber PaperLink GmbH.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, at 12:15 p.m. in Booth 1200, Andy D. Paparozzi, senior vice president and chief economist for NAPL, will deliver his highly anticipated annual “State of Our Industry” report. Paparozzi is well-known for his accurate and thoughtful discussions on the economy and U.S. commercial printing industry.

Heidelberg’s Prinect workflow will drive color management among offset, toner-based and grand-format digital inkjet equipment, represented by Heidelberg’s Speedmaster 74 and Speedmaster SM 52 Anicolor presses, the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition digital press, and the grand-format EFI VUTEk GS3200, a hybrid UV inkjet printer for rigid and roll-to-roll printing.

Heidelberg USA has announced a series of structural and organizational changes intended to reinforce its position in the print media marketplace. These include a realignment of its regional office facilities and key regional personnel in certain parts of the country in order to raise the level of support for its customers.

Visitors to GRAPH EXPO Booth 1200 will be able to view the newest enhancements to Heidelberg’s Prinect workflow and learn how to “get Prinected” from order intake to job completion as they witness Prinect solutions for integrated production, color management, MIS, and Web-to-Print in live action.

Environmental protection is a global issue of ever increasing importance that also affects the print media industry. Heidelberg, therefore, played host once again to the international “Environmental Dialog” at the Print Media Academy on the occasion of the second Heidelberg ECO Printing Award presentation.

GRAPH EXPO 2011 is the first North American show at which Heidelberg will present both its new digital and conventional production equipment alongside its Speedmaster presses. Accordingly, GRAPH EXPO will see the U.S. launch of the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition high-speed color digital press.

Heidelberg recorded sales of €544 million in the first three months of the current financial year, compared to €563 million in the same period of the previous year. In the North America region, incoming orders increased by 6 percent.

This takeover expands the existing digital print portfolio of Heidelberg for the packaging sector and widens its customer base in the market segment. Heidelberg also gains access to technology and expertise in the areas of drop-on-demand inkjet and electrophotography.
