Heidelberg’s Preliminary Q1 Results Reflect Developments in Asia Region

Heidelberg’s sales of €544 million are in line with last year's results after adjusting for exchange rate effects, but fall slightly short of the company’s expectations. Among other things, this is due to sales being shifted into the next quarters as a result of the earthquake in Japan and delays resulting from the extended liquidity shortage in the Chinese banking system.

DISC, a leading source of specialty packaging solutions, has retrofitted the Eco-Eagle cold foil system to its eight-color 40" Heidelberg offset press equipment to accommodate the cold foil application. “After thorough research, DISC selected the Eco-Eagle cold foil system from Graphic Art Systems as a value-added finishing technique for its packaging production due to the manufacturer’s extensive experience and its leadership in the design and manufacture of print enhancement equipment,” says Margaret Krumholz, president of DISC.
