The organization recently completed a series of installations—including press, postpress and software components from Heidelberg—to bring sheetfed offset litho printing in-house at Bridge Publications in Los Angeles. The goal was to increase efficiencies and reduce the costs associated with outsourcing production of its marketing collateral and related materials.

Andrew S. Field, founder of PrintingForLess.com (PFL) in Livingston, MT, never had any grand designs about owning an online venture, let alone a printing company. Modern Litho-Print hasn’t been afraid to make critical software investments during the economic downturn, or to look internally at ways of making the general commercial shop leaner and meaner.
On Oct. 22, Heidelberg USA graciously opened the doors of its Print Media Academy to welcome and educate the next generation of young people contemplating a career in the graphic arts. The event—named “Fit to Print”—proved to be extremely successful, and I would like to share my experiences.
Incoming orders increased to EUR 651 million, compared to EUR 534 million for the previous year.
