The Dscoop Partner Summit, to be held Feb. 18-20, 2011 in Orlando, will bring the parties together to discuss the future of the industry and how they can create products, solutions and offerings for HP Indigo and Scitex that best meet the industry’s needs.
“Eighty percent of our revenue stream comes from dynamic, variable-data printing—work that helps our clients sell a product or service,” said Christopher Petro, President and CEO, GlobalSoft. Earlier this year, the company also added an HP Designjet L25500 printer to augment its burgeoning wide-format business.
Within the first month of Unisource’s $100,000 Challenge Grant to The Print Council, six companies have signed up and joined together to promote the power of print. They are NewPage, Hewlett Packard, Neenah Paper, PrintingforLess.com, MSP Digital Marketing LLC, CRW Graphics, PennLitho, Dome Printing, and HBP Inc.
Thirty nationally-recognized companies are sponsoring the Printing Industries Alliance’s upcoming 2010 Franklin Event to date. More than 500 senior executives from the printing, advertising, publishing and graphic sectors are expected to attend the popular annual gala scheduled for Wednesday, September 29.
This summer, Hewlett Packard selected KU Bookstores to house a pilot for its Print-On-Demand book printing program. The program brings a publishing center to Jayhawk Inc. on the second floor of the Kansas Union and now allows them to quickly create textbooks and other course materials for a fraction of the cost. While only a few months old, the program has quickly gained popularity among departments on campus.
“It has been a much higher volume than what we intended,” said Estella McCollum, director of KU Bookstores. “We’ve probably produced around 5,000 books in a month.”
Each Superior customer will be assigned a private, virtual dashboard which is accessible via a new portal called GoToPrint. Customers can access document management tools, arrange for next morning delivery, track their work, and utilize an integrated ecommerce platform.
Net revenue totaled $30.7 billion, with Imaging and Printing Group revenue up 9% to $6.2 billion and commercial printer hardware units up 44%.
The day-and-a-half Dscoop event will kick-off during on Monday, October 4, with an evening reception at the River East Arts Center. Members will reconvene Tuesday 5 for the program themed "The Relationship Between Leadership and Profitability."
