In the first quarter of 2014, press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer (KBA), delivered a double-digit increase in sales and order intake, as well as significant improvements to its operating and pre-tax results year-over-year.
Allied Printing Services in Manchester, CT, is expanding its capacity with the addition of two new six-color, 41" KBA Rapida 106 high-speed presses equipped with UV and conventional coating. The two new presses are due to be delivered in June 2014.
Dr. Andreas Plesske, 53, has been selected by the supervisory board of Koenig & Bauer (KBA) as management board member responsible for restructuring operations (CRO) with effect from May 1, 2014. He will focus on the extensive program “Fit@All” approved in Dec. 2013 to realign KBA and relieve the CEO of these tasks.

KBA has published its financial statements for 2013. Given subdued demand for offset and security presses sales and order intake in 2013 were lower than the previous year which benefited from the drupa trade show.
Dr. Martin Hoyos has been unanimously elected by the supervisory board of Koenig & Bauer (KBA), as the new chairman. This appointment follows the resignation of Heinz-Joachim Neubürger as member and chairman of the supervisory board.
