Tempt In-Store Productions, a Quad/Graphics co., will be installing a new KBA Rapida 205, the world’s largest sheetfed press, at its New Berlin, WI, facility, in the summer of 2014. The new press complements the company's existing 64" KBA Rapida sheetfed press and represents the latest step in Tempt’s mission to build a nationwide in-store marketing platform that delivers the best possible solutions with the latest technology.
Effective March 1st, press manufacturer KBA is to become a distributor for several of Optimus Group's MIS solutions such as Dash, Cloud and Cloud Mobile in the regions Western Europe, Asia-Pacific and the United States and Canada. Further markets are expected to follow later.
Allied Printing Services of Manchester, CT, has purchased two new KBA Rapida 106 high-speed presses, and is also adding two new Canon 7010 digital presses, significantly expanding its digital services. "These capital expenditures will increase our capacity and make Allied more efficient and productive for our customers," said John Sommers.
Canadian folding carton manufacturer Ingersoll Paper Box (IPB) will receive a new seven-color, 41" KBA Rapida 106 press equipped with a coater, full UV capabilities, and inline color control, in April 2014. The new KBA press will aid in the production of short-run work for its pharmaceutical customers.

While Foster Printing of Santa Ana, CA, does not feel compelled to rule the world, the executive leadership team is fairly happy with dominating their small corner of it. Walter Hartmann is the new head of marketing for sheetfed offset presses at the Koenig & Bauer (KBA) plant in Radebeul, Germany. He follows in the footsteps of Jürgen Veil, who after 15 successful years at the helm, sought new challenges in the sheetfed offset product house.
CPI Card Group has purchased a new eight-color, 41" KBA Rapida 105 press to be delivered in March 2014. The new press joins a one-year-old seven-color, 41" KBA Rapida 105 UV-equipped sheetfed press with tower coater and plastics package.
