Heinz-Joachim Neubürger has been selected as Koenig & Bauer's (KBA) new chairman. Neubürger, former CFO at Siemens, was elected as member of the KBA supervisory board at the annual general meeting in June 2013.

The keynote speakers at the 66th Annual Technical Conference of TAGA, March 23–26, 2014 in Fort Worth, TX, will represent some of the printing industry’s brightest minds, and will provide their insight into the future.

AT PRINT 13, Meredith-Webb Printing of Burlington, NC, signed a contract for the purchase of a newly-launched six-color, 64˝ KBA Rapida 164 10-unit press with double coaters, UV capabilities, and the new KBA ErgoTronic console. The new press will be delivered to Meredith-Webb’s facility in January 2014.

The energy and enthusiasm at PRINT 13 in Chicago began to emerge at the pre-show Executive Outlook Conference held on Saturday, September 7, 2013. With the focus on "Driving Profits through Innovation, Integration and Communication," this year's program was the highest attended since 2005.

KBA North America reports that PRINT 13 was one of its most successful shows due to the high volume of quality customer visits throughout the five-day event. Meredith-Webb Printing of Burlington, NC, joined KBA executives on the first day of the show to ink their contract for the purchase of a third KBA press.

Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS) has added a new specially-configured KBA Rapida press with full automation for its board packaging and plastic printing, at its facility in Indianapolis.

Walter G. Anderson, an independent supplier of folding cartons with manufacturing facilities in Hamel, MN, and Newton, IA, installed a second 57˝ KBA Rapida 145 press at its Newton facility last month.

Printco Graphics in Omaha, NE, has chosen a new five-color, 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 press with coater and UV, to expand into new markets, and to strengthen production, increase workflow and keep up with demand.

KBA is continuing its successful niche strategy with the majority takeover of Kammann Maschinenbau GmbH in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany. The world’s second-largest press manufacturer aims to expand into this growing market to counteract the shrinking sales volume of web presses for publications heavily affected by the advance of online media.
