By adding a 81˝ KBA Rapida 205 UV sheetfed press to its fleet of printers at its Los Angeles location, Primary Color will now be able to handle projects in the high-volume packaging, retail and entertainment markets.

A new six-color, 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 press with UV has been added at Imagine! Print Solutions in Minneapolis, to add additional capacity for several customer requirements. "Our print buyer customers, like everyone else, are looking for higher quality and faster throughput and we can offer these things in combination with the new KBA press," said Bob Lothenbach, founder and president of Imagine! Print Solutions.
Ralf Sammeck, executive vice president of sales, marketing and service at Koenig & Bauer’s (KBA) sheetfed facility in Radebeul, Germany, has taken on additional responsiblity for the company's sheetfed offset press engineering.
At PRINT 13 in Chicago in September, KBA North America will be introducing new presses, along with a booth visit from NAPL Senior Vice President and Chief Economist Andrew Paparozzi providing a print industry preview.
The Garvey Group in Niles, IL, is adding a new six-color, 64˝ KBA Rapida 162a press with UV curing to its fleet of KBA presses. This latest addition at the firm is due to be operational later this month. This acquisition will also answer capacity needs due to a growing customer base and increasing sales volume.
KBA President and CEO Claus Bolza-Schünemann, addressed shareholders at the 88th annual general meeting in Würzburg, Germany. Bolza-Schünemann, painted a mixed picture of the current situation in the printing press market, whereas the sheetfed division benefitted from numerous orders placed at the well-attended trade shows China Print in Beijing and Printtek in Istanbul, Turkey.
Folding carton manufacturer Malnove has added a new seven-color, 57˝ KBA Rapida 145 sheetfed press at its Omaha, NE, facility. The press is equipped with a host of automation features including, the KBA SIS Sensoric sidelay-free Infeed, board version, DensiTronic Professional Closed Loop Spectrophotometry, Auto Register, LogoTronic Professional, CleanTronic Synchro, and a high-speed package for a maximum speed of 17,000 sph.
Koenig & Bauer (KBA) disclosed a 15.5 percent reduction in the group’s new orders to €200m (2012: €236.6m). Group sales of €190.7m were also below last year’s figure of €263.5m due to shipments postponed by customers and more deliveries planned in the second half of the year.
