KBA North America announces that Foster Printing, a large-format trade printer based in Santa Ana, CA, will be installing a KBA Rapida 205 81" large-format six-color UV press in October 2012. “Over the last four years, we have seen tremendous growth in our business,” says Kris Blackburn, vice president of sales at Foster Printing.
GRAFTON, WI—Philipp Lithographing will be adding a third large-format KBA press to its arsenal. A new 57˝ Rapida 145 six-color press will be delivered in September for installation alongside the printer’s existing 81˝ KBA Rapida 205 and 64˝ Rapida 162A presses on the pressroom floor.

Winston Packaging, a fourth-generation family-owned printed paperboard packaging company located in Winston-Salem, NC, has purchased a new KBA Rapida 106 41˝ six-color press with unique automation such as LogoTronic, DensiTronic, and SIS. “We were seeking a press that would provide us with faster changeovers and faster run speeds along with advanced color management to provide our customers with the best performing folding carton possible,” says Gordon.

KBA is targeting sales of more than €1.2 billion for 2012 and a higher pre-tax group profit compared to 2011 (€3.3 million). Contracts worth well over €100 million were signed at drupa 2012 and post-show business remains brisk.

KBA North America announces that Don Coggswell has been tapped by KBA as its western regional sales director. In this newly created position, Coggswell will be responsible for a direct territory consisting of the states of Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
U.S. packaging printer Everett Graphics, based in Oakland, CA, has signed up at drupa 2012 for a new-generation Rapida 106 launched at show. The press will have 10 printing and coating units and will ship as early as the end of July.
