Claus Bolza-Schünemann, president and CEO of Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA), announced a positive verdict on group performance in the first seven days of drupa. With customers coming from some 30 countries around the world, KBA booked a string of orders for sheetfed offset presses in all format classes.
On March 1, 2011, KBA and RR Donnelley announced they had entered a collaborative alliance to develop new inkjet printing systems. Just over 14 months later, the product of this alliance—the RotaJET 76—has been received with keen interest at drupa 2012.
The Atlantic Zeiser Group, a leading developer and supplier of modules and integrated end-to-end system solutions for industrial digital and security printing, will demonstrate at drupa how its Delta 105i high-speed digital printer can be integrated into the new generation Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) sheetfed offset Rapida 105.
KBA North America announces that Walter G. Anderson, a supplier of folding cartons, is the first printer in the United States to install the 57" Rapida 145 press with coater. The firm has been utilizing the press “under wraps” since August 2011 prior to its official debut at drupa 2012.
Toray International America, a premier supplier of computer-to-plate printing plates for the waterless printing market, will be showcasing its products and services at drupa 2012. Toray will have its own 5,000-sq.ft. booth performing live demonstrations on Stand D32 in Hall 16. Additional waterless printing demonstrations using Toray plates will also be seen at the KBA booth in Hall 16, Stand C47.
KBA North America is eagerly anticipating the opening of Drupa 2012 to put on display an array of new press technology. The firm’s drupa slogan “sprinting ahead” serves to spotlight the encouraging opportunities for print in the multimedia age. The addition of a new 41-inch KBA sheetfed press will help folding carton converter Royal Paper Box achieve efficiency gains in makeready and running speeds, while also improving its production scheduling and reducing costs.
CPI Card Group, a leader in identification card production, is preparing for a successful 2012 by ordering a 41" KBA Rapida 105 seven-color, UV-equipped sheetfed press. “Management at CPI Card Group has seen a dramatic increase in our order intake and the need to fulfill press orders with additional capacity,” reports Paul Boge, general manager.
KBA North America announces that it has set a new record with the installation of 10 presses at customers in the Southeast during 2011. The press models range from the award-winning Genius 52 UV to the large-format Rapida 142 press.
