Tecnau and LasermaxRoll will introduce a new name and brand: TecnauGroup. Following the acquisition last year of LasermaxRoll by Tecnau, the TecnauGroup now represents products from both Tecnau (Italy) and LasermaxRoll (Sweden and USA). IVREA, ITALY—Tecnau has acquired all the business operations and assets of Lasermax Roll Systems. The acquisition expands the product portfolios available from each company, and strengthens their global market presence with a combination of paper handling, processing and document finishing solutions for digital print production.
Tecnau and Lasermax Roll Systems have complementary product portfolios and geographic market strengths. They will maintain separate operations and retain their current management teams. Customers will now have access to complete paper processing and finishing solutions through one supplier able to serve both transactional and general commercial print/graphic arts requirements.
ROCHESTER, NY—Mercury Print Productions, which specializes in digital book printing for publishers in the education market, has begun installation of a Kodak Prosper 5000XL inkjet press. The press will boost its ability to produce short-run and on-demand books in color, meeting publishers’ needs in the education/textbook market.
With contracts received to date, the Solutions Showcase exhibit hall is already 13 percent larger than last year. The show floor will be segmented by solutions related to commercial print, direct marketing, label and packaging, photo, publishing and grand-format printing.
“Eighty percent of our revenue stream comes from dynamic, variable-data printing—work that helps our clients sell a product or service,” said Christopher Petro, President and CEO, GlobalSoft. Earlier this year, the company also added an HP Designjet L25500 printer to augment its burgeoning wide-format business.
