Fannon Fine Printing Replaces Three Presses with a Roland 500

ALEXANDRIA, VA—06/06/07—It’s spring cleaning time at Fannon Fine Printing in Alexandria, Virginia. After a three-year search, Daniel Fannon and his team are installing a Roland 500 29-inch press. The six-color-plus-coating system replaces a pressroom full of equipment that includes a 40-inch six-color Roland Rekord, a 20-inch four-color GTO, and an 18-inch Quickmaster DI direct imaging machine. VIENNA—May 15, 2007—Viennese publisher Herold Druck has become the first newspaper production facility in the world to incorporate UV printing as an integrated part of its production process. MAN Roland brought the versatile ultraviolet/coldset capabilities to the publisher’s pressroom by adding a UV-enabled tower to Herold’s existing Colorman press. MAN Roland Hosts Printers for Press Premier OFFENBACH, GERMANY—The world premier of a “next generation” sheetfed printing platform isn’t an everyday occurrence, so MAN Roland extended its recent festivities to more than a week to allow for bringing in several groups of select printers, journalists and its own employees from around the globe. The stars of the show were HiPrint and DirectDrive versions of the new Roland 700 sheetfed printing platform. Stuart McMichael, former president of Arlington, VA-based Custom Print, was selected for his significant contributions toward environmental awareness, education and best practices in printing.
