MAR Graphics Increases Digital Print Capacity with Two Xerox Printers

MAR Graphics in Valmeyer, IL, has completed the installation of a Xerox iGen4, and a new Xerox Color 8250 production printer. The units join MAR's fleet of black-and-white devices, UV half-web presses, UV forms web presses, flexo and inkjet systems, web-finishing lines, lettershop and bindery equipment.

Perfector Boosts Versatility and Quality CONYERS, GA—After recently installing a six-color, 41˝ KBA Rapida 105 one-over-five perfector with aqueous coating capability, 4D Printing reports that the press is “completely booked” and is running three shifts a day, five days a week. Doug Silsbee, 4D vice president, claims that the Rapida 105 is 25 percent faster in makeready than the printer’s other presses. It is also equipped with automatic plate loaders, auto washup and the KBA Densitronic S closed-loop scanning spectrodensitometer. “Thanks to the amazing automation, we’re putting more jobs through the KBA Rapida 105 than any of our other presses,” Silsbee says. “We

To help solidify branding and enhance name recognition, the Goodway Group of Companies, headquartered in Philadelphia, announced that its Massachusetts plant has changed its name from Goodway Graphics to Goodway Group of Massachusetts. Their sister facility near Washington, DC, has changed to Goodway Group of Virginia. In other company news, both the Massachusetts and Virginia plants are now FSC certified. The Print Council announced that GLS Companies, Brooklyn Park, MN; The Hickory Printing Group, Hickory, NC; Jet Inc., Downers Grove, IL; and Lake County Press, Waukegan, IL, have joined the organization. Shop’s 29˝ Sheetfed PressesOutmaneuver 40˝ Competitors WINTER PARK, FL—Edward Sengel, president of Superior Printers, was so impressed with his first Roland 500 press that he installed a second one. Both systems are configured with six printing units, in-line coating and extended deliveries. The printer also uses MAN Roland’s printnet PressManager, which networks the Roland 500s to the rest of Superior’s production workflow. The second Roland 500 has perfecting capabilities. “The 23x29˝ format of the Roland 500 takes it to the next level,” says Sengel. “Unless you’re doing oversized display posters, a large percentage of what used to be 40˝ work exclusively can now run
