The purchase includes the Carnival, Passport, Genesis, Synergy, Pegasus, Magna Carta, Solutions, Feltweave, Nekoosa, Proterra, Skytone, and SMART Brights brands, and will reportedly make Mohawk the largest supplier of premium papers in North America.

Green Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Eco-Friendly Machine MIAMI—Original Impressions recently announced a series of “Going Green” initiatives, while unveiling its newly installed Heidelberg XL 105 printing press. The announcements were made at the company’s two-day open house held in conjunction with Earth Day. At the event, Founder and CEO Roland B. Garcia Sr. provided opening remarks on the evolution of the company’s business plan to include environmentally sustainable initiatives. Behind the Scenes R&D on New Line of Eco-Friendly Inks CARLSTADT, NJ—At Sun Chemical’s Carlstadt Technical Center, a research and development facility, more than 100 scientists and support staff from around the globe test the analysis, surface characterization, interfacial dynamics and synthesis of new inks. Some new developments at the facility include Earth sheetfed inks, which produce only 2 percent VOCs, and offer sharp lithographic dot fidelity, high-trap efficiency, well-maintained density during press runs and fast color accuracy; and Liberty eco-friendly inks that offer sharp press stability and ultra-fast drying; the WetFlex printing process, which allows converters to print flexible films at high speed
Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group has made a contribution of $85,000 to the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH). The contribution provides funding to build a house in an area that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Kodak employees and customers were invited to volunteer to help build the new home.
