In an asset deal, NELA Brüder Neumeister GmbH of Lahr, Germany, acquired on January 26, 2009 the entire product range of OMCS Optical Measurement GmbH in Dessau, Germany.

OAKDALE, MN—August 11, 2008—NELA is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with Punch Graphix to assume first-tier service & support responsibilities for all existing Strobbe benders worldwide. In Mid-2007 Strobbe bender users were notified that Strobbe (Punch Graphix) would no longer support or honor service or maintenance contracts on the installed Strobbe plate bending equipment in the US and that any future service would be facilitated through their service office in Belgium. OAKDALE, MN—July 25, 2008—Two more North American printers decide on NELA equipment to automate and control their plate flow in the prepress department. NELA is proud to be one of the partners of Transcontinental Transmag on their new press project in Montreal, Canada. The NELA system will vision register, punchbend and inspect plates exiting three (3) CTP devices. With the help of NELA NPS Barcode & Page Tracking Software, the plates will be then transported to the quiet room next to the press consoles. Perfecting Press Doubles Production BRAINTREE, MA—A six-color, 40˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 102 perfector press with aqueous coater has been added at G.H. Dean Printing, and it has been twice as productive as the older press it replaced, reports CEO Ken Michaud. The new machine, which is the second six-color SM 102 perfector at G.H.
