Pitney Bowes' Management Services business unit was awarded a contract for Managed Print Services (MPS) by The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN) in Houston. Under this agreement, state and local government agencies in Texas and other states are able to purchase MPS solutions from Pitney Bowes using a significantly streamlined procurement process.

Pitney Bowes is reorganizing its business operations and has named Mark Shearer and Mark Wright to senior roles within the company. They will both will report directly to President and CEO Marc Lautenbach.

According to a new Pitney Bowes report, Quick Response (QR) codes are gaining increased acceptance among consumers in North America and Europe. Consumers have responded most to QR codes found in magazines, and on consumer packages and mail pieces.
Debbie Pfeiffer will be responsible for Pitney’s Presort Services business within Mail Services and will report to Vicki O’Meara, president of Pitney Bowes Services Solutions. Jay Oxton, current president of Pitney Bowes Mail Services, will retire from the company at the end of February 2013.
Marc B. Lautenbach joins Pitney Bowes with nearly 30 years of experience in the technology and business-services industry, having held senior leadership positions at IBM. At different stages of his career there, Lautenbach oversaw the small- and medium-size customer segment.
Interquest’s Digital Printing in Government and Higher Education Forum, which was hosted by the Government Printing Office in Washington DC, drew nearly 120 attendees—20 percent more than the 2011 forum. “In these challenging and exciting times, our attendees value the opportunity to learn from one another and find answers to the right balance of communication media as well as the role digital printing adds to the mix,” said Gilles Biscos, president of Interquest.
TRUMBULL, CT—As many as 135 jobs are expected to be cut at Océ North America as part of an integration plan developed since it was acquired by Canon Inc. three years ago, the Connecticut Post reported. A majority of the cuts will be made at its headquarters here, with the bulk of the layoffs coming on New Year's Eve.
