Presstek, Inc. has announced that Quad/Graphics will be purchasing a Presstek 52DI-AC, which will be debuting at PRINT 09.

Presstek, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRST), a leading manufacturer and marketer of digital offset printing solutions, today announced the expansion of its digital plate portfolio with Presstek Aeon, a long run, high resolution non-preheat thermal CTP plate. Aeon provides owners of 830 nm thermal CTP platesetters with a durable digital plate that can be used for high volume print runs from 200,000 (unbaked) to up to one million impressions (with the optional post-bake capability).

HUDSON, NH—Digital printing equipment specialist Presstek is reducing its workforce by 10 percent following a second quarter that saw the company lose more than $40 million. The cuts will result in the loss of about 60 jobs. According to the Connecticut Post, this move and other initiatives will save the company $10 million per year. Much of the second quarter loss was related to two non-routine charges.
