Tempt In-Store Productions, a Quad/Graphics co., will be installing a new KBA Rapida 205, the world’s largest sheetfed press, at its New Berlin, WI, facility, in the summer of 2014. The new press complements the company's existing 64" KBA Rapida sheetfed press and represents the latest step in Tempt’s mission to build a nationwide in-store marketing platform that delivers the best possible solutions with the latest technology.

The acquisition fortifies Quad/Graphics’ commercial and specialty printing, in-store marketing, and digital and fulfillment solutions for businesses on the East Coast. It also strengthens Quad/Graphics’ ability to service national retailers’ large-format and in-store marketing needs, adding an East Coast presence to Quad’s existing Midwest and West Coast locations.

ST. CLOUD, MN—The night shift at Quad/Graphics' facility here had to evacuate after an air compressor malfunctioned and caught fire, reported the St. Cloud Times.
The night shift at Quad/Graphics, 660 NE Mayhew Lake Road in St. Cloud, MN, was sent home after an air compressor malfunctioned and caught fire.
No injuries were reported.
SUSSEX, WI—Quad/Graphics is in the process of integrating the property and personnel obtained in the Vertis Holdings acquisition, and is closing at least two of its facilities, the Associated Press reported.
Quad/Graphics plans to close a plant in Iowa and another in California this year. Quad/Graphics spokeswoman Claire Ho said Thursday a total of about 200 employees will lose their jobs when the Sussex, WI-based company closes a plant in Marengo, IA, by March and another in Pomona, CA, by June.
Ho says the plant closures are the result of integrating Vertis Holdings, which Quad/Graphics acquired last year.
