SUSSEX, WI—Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle announced Quad/Graphics will receive $46 million in assistance to consolidate and expand its operations, create up to 1,300 new jobs and retain 5,500 existing jobs in Wisconsin.
The company is looking to fill 420 full-time and part-time jobs immediately. Quad is restarting equipment that had been shut down in 2009 in response to the worldwide economic downturn. In addition, it is making investments in new equipment and technology to fortify its capabilities.

SUSSEX, WI—Quad/Graphics is investing $23 million in restructuring its Canadian operations, closing a plant in Quebec and shedding more than 300 jobs as it seeks to create a more efficient, flexible manufacturing platform.
Quad/Graphics intends to make an initial $23 million investment in its infrastructure and manufacturing platform within the next year, close the St.-Jean-sur-Richelieu printing plant in Quebec, and refocus the Edmonton, Alberta plant operations on serving retail insert and directory clients exclusively. The investment will be focused on upgrading equipment to further advance quality and turnaround times.
Quad/Graphics announced its closing of the Lebanon facility in August. The printing facility was built in 1991 and had gone through a number of owners, until Quad/Graphics purchased former owner Worldcolor in July. The plant’s closing is due to a consolidation effort within the company to improve efficiency and eliminate excess capacity, officials said.
Meanwhile, county and state agencies are working to help employees with the plant’s closing and hopefully move them into other jobs. Representatives from Work Force One of Warren County, which helps displaced workers find new jobs, said they had been allowed access
