A renewed contract with publishing company Scholastic will guarantee stability and viability for Waseca’s Quad/Graphics.
Idealliance and Printing Industries Alliance have announced the honorees for the Franklin Luminaire Awards dinner in New York City on October 19th. They include Dianne Kennedy, Idealliance XML and Metadata Evangelist Emeritus and editor for XML specifications; Paul Nowak, director of customer experience at QuadPackaging; and Canon Solutions America, which will be honored with the inaugural 2016 Innovation Excellence Award. In addition, Mark Darlow, a founder, lifetime trustee, and past president of the Graphic Communications Scholarship Foundation, will receive the 2016 Zenger Community Service Medal.
Quad reported net sales for the second quarter was $1 billion dollars, while adjusted EBITDA was up due to operational efficiencies.

Two new appointments have been made at Quad/Graphics. Steve Fuller, former senior VP and chief marketing officer of L.L.Bean Inc., and John Fowler, vice chairman and executive VP of Global Strategy and Corporate Development of Quad/Graphics, have been appointed to Quad/Graphics’ board of directors. Joel Quadracci, president, and CEO of Quad/Graphics, will be honored as the recipient of the 56th annual Walter E. Soderstrom Award. The award will be presented at the gala Soderstrom Awards Dinner at the Tuscany Ballroom of the Orlando Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, the evening before the opening of Graph Expo 16. "Joel’s commitment to our industry is exceptional and he is very deserving of the Soderstrom Award, our highest honor for industry service," says Ken Garner, executive VP of Idealliance, the new association formed through the recent merger of Idealliance and Epicomm.

Scott Walker dropped by the facility for an in-depth tour and to see how the facility has become one of the Midwest's leading digital print supercenters. The event drew local television news crews and print reporters who joined with Quad's employees to inspect the plant’s new HP T410 digital inkjet web press.
