drupa will see a host of new perfect binder entries all designed to smooth the finishing workflow for both inkjet- and toner-based digital presses. All of these machines can either run in-line with the press, or in a near-line configuration.
At the official drupa 2012 International Media Conference held at the Messe Düsseldorf Congress Centre in Düsseldorf, Germany, more than 100 media delegates eagerly awaited to hear about the latest product launches planned for drupa that were going to be revealed during the three-day briefing.
Heidelberg has announced the following prepress, press and postpress product installations at Cavanaugh Press (Baltimore), Great Atlantic Graphics (Malvern, PA), Print Harmony (Clearwater, FL), Winchester Printers (Winchester, VA) and Graphicolor Printing (New Berlin, WI).

The official drupa 2012 International Media Conference, conducted by the show’s organizers, has been taking place this week in Düsseldorf, Germany. It gives participating exhibitors the opportunity to share their plans for the upcoming international printing expo. Among the companies to making presentations during the first two days were Heidelberg, Ricoh, Kolbus, Epson, Canon, Fujifilm, Pitney Bowes and Domino Printing Sciences.
Heidelberg will be showcasing around 60 innovations under the motto “Discover HEI” in Hall 1 at drupa 2012. The main focus is on the launch of a completely new series of sheetfed offset presses under the name Speedmaster SX. This series combines the cutting-edge technology of existing product series in a new performance class that is tailored first and foremost to the requirements of commercial printing in order to meet the changed market requirements.
Ricoh’s presence at drupa 2012 will be its biggest yet. Visitors to its stand in Hall 08a (B46-1 and B46-3) will see its extensive portfolio of software and hardware, suitable for print service providers who are growing their business beyond print, or expanding into marketing and communications services.

Southwest Precision Printers (SWP), Houston’s largest commercial printer, has purchased a new Heidelberg CD 102 sheetfed press, which will boost its production capacity by 50 percent. ”It’s imperative that we have the right equipment to meet our increasing customer demand,” says SWP owner and President Tim Tully.
