PITTSBURGH—The 2014 Best Workplace in the Americas Awards recipients have been announced by Printing Industries of America. A total of 28 graphic arts companies, both members through Printing Industries of America Affiliate Organizations and non-members, were selected by a committee of distinguished HR experts from within the industry.

Instead of devising our own wholly subjective criteria with which to judge printing companies, we have instead deferred to the wisdom of the Printing Industries of America (PIA), which produces its own annual Best Workplace in the Americas Awards. The selected companies are: Midstates Inc., Aberdeen, SD; The John Roberts Co., Minneapolis; Ripon Printers, Ripon, WI; and Courier Corp., North Chelmsford, MA.
Ripon Printers and several of its customers were recently honored with Gold Ink Awards and Premier Print Awards. The 2014 Gold Ink Awards, sponsored by Printing Impressions magazine, recognized Twisted Tree Comics with a first place Gold Award in the digital, printing, books and manuals category for Spindle Twisted Tree Issue #2.

Since 2000, Printing Industries of America has honored the best places to work in the graphic arts industry with annual awards. The Best Workplace in the Americas Awards is one of the most stringent human resources awards programs available in any industry.
